Curfew in Miraj and Sangli extended till
Tuesday; 208 arrested
ONE person was kille and five others were seriously injured in fresh

injuries llegedly in police lathicharge.

The curfew imposed
in Miraj nd Sangli on Saturday night has een extended till Tuesday.
Addiional Superintendent of Police, angli, Balasaheb Waghmode aid the
situation is under control, xcept for a few incidences of vioence and
stone pelting. Nevertheess, after taking stock of the situaion, the
curfew in Miraj has been xtended up to 2 pm and in Sangli p to 10 am
on Tuesday, he said.
State's Director
General of Po ce S S Virk told reporters in San li on Monday that the
police have rrested 208 people and the situ tion is under control. On
Mon ay, the authorities announced reaxation of curfew in Miraj for alf-an-hour
in the morning.
